I’m Isaac Ruiz, and I’m a dad, trial lawyer, insurance nerd, consumer advocate, and partner with Keller Rohrback L.L.P. in Seattle. I currently serve as a commissioner on the Seattle Community Police Commission.
I am a partner with Keller Rohrback, where I represent policyholders and victims of wrongdoing.
I am the author of Washington’s Insurance Fair Conduct Act: Cases and Analysis (2014), a treatise on Washington’s groundbreaking insurance law.
I publish and maintain IFCA.online, a free compilation of the complete legislative history of the Insurance Fair Conduct Act.
I’m working on a desk book for lawyers discussing Washington’s Consumer Protection Act.
I serve as commissioner on the Seattle Community Police Commission. The Community Police Commission’s charge is to represent a broad range of community perspectives and to reach out and engage communities directly, to get critical feedback, and to then recommend changes to Seattle Police Department policies and practices. It gives community members a voice and stake in the reform efforts.
I serve as vice president of the QLaw Foundation board, which provides a free legal clinic to LGBTQ people and education regarding legal issues affecting the LGBTQ community. I am editing the new edition of the bench guide on LGBTQ issues, set for publication later in 2016.
